The following members were present:
Vic Ressler
Pete Kampfer
Jack Ashmore
Bill Boothe
Glen Chapman
Harry Michalewicz
Billy Copeland
The following members were absent:
Andrew Fasken
B. Also present was Lisa A. Wright, Airport Director; and Jerry Richey,
Airport Manager.
2. Approval of minutes from previous meetings. Minutes of the November 15,
2007, meeting were approved as presented.
3. Continued discussion of and possib/e action on recommending that the City
install a grass landing strip at the airport. Shane Grissom, City of Paris
Engineering Department, stated that Option 1 shown on the map goes over a
shallow drainage box. He recommended Option 3 because the other finro
options could create drainage problems if we needed to level out the ground
in any way. Jack Ashmore stated that it won't need to be raised, we will just
prepare the surface. Billy Copeland stated the only option is to do Option
3. Vic Ressler stated Option 3 is out of the way. The Board asked who
would move fences, grade, and mow it down? Pete Kampfer stated that we
need to keep in the custody and maintenance of the City, and put it in the
budget because third party dealings could get bad and create liability for us.
Motion was made by Bill Boothe, seconded by Pete Kampfer, to approve
Option 3 on the contingency that maintenance and funding be done by the
City. Motion carried 7-0.
000014
