(2) A person may obtain a temporary sign permit for their business for a <br />maximum time period of twenty-one (21) consecutive days up to four <br />times per year. The temporary sign may not exceed thirty-two (32) <br />square feet in size and the means of attachment or anchoring of the <br />temporary sign shall not be visible from the public right-of-way. <br />(3) A developer or builder's sign for a particular project may be allowed to <br />remain in place through completion of the project, provided <br />reasonable progress is made. <br />(4) A permit fee of $25.00 will be applicable for each temporary sign <br />permitted during each twenty-one day period. <br />(5) For coordinated development sites such as shopping centers, office <br />centers, or industrial parks, only one temporary sign may be located at <br />a time, for a maximum of twenty-one (21) consecutive days, no more <br />than four times per year per coordinateddevelopment. <br />(6) Temporary signs may not be located in areas of required off-street <br />parking. <br />(7) Temporary signs may not be located in areas that may, in the <br />judgment of the building inspection division or the police department, <br />create a safety hazard to vehicular or pedestrian traffic. <br />(8) Temporary signs, when permitted, may not be relocated to any other <br />location on the property or to another property without prior <br />authorization from the building inspection department. Any approved <br />relocation of a permitted temporary sign does not extend the <br />authorized time period of the sign. <br />(9) Temporary signs shall be required to meet all applicable city codes. <br />(10) Temporary signs shall be maintained in a good state of repair and <br />shall not be allowed to become dilapidated, faded, weatherworn, <br />unsightly or deteriorated. <br />(b) New business. A grand-opening sign shall be allowed in addition to the <br />maximum allowable signage for a 30-day period upon issuance of a certificate of <br />occupancy. The fee for such signage shall be included as part of the original sign <br />package, and such grand opening sign will not be counted toward the maximum <br />number of temporary sign permits allowed per year.
