TOM BEAN, PE
Leak Detection
Severn Trent Pipeline Services

Education
B.S. Civil Engineering, Valparaiso University, 1969

Professional Registration
Registered Professional Engineer - TX, IN

Professional Experience
Mr. Bean joined Severn Trent Pipeline Services (STPS) in 1969 and has hands-on field and management experience in water
distribution systems, district measurements, hydraulic field testing, hydraulic modeling studies, water quality analysis, and master
planning projects. Mr. Bean is responsible for field data acquisition, overall data analysis, report preparation, budget control, and
overall data and report quality for 011 projects being performed by STPS in the Southern District.

Relevant Project Experience

. City of Charleston, South Carolina Water Master Plan. Mr. Bean developed and calibrated model of system, and recommended
a capital improvements program to meet projected growth.

. City of Saginaw, Michigan Water System Model Master Plan. Mr. Bean analyzed and developed water consumption figures
based upon population density and developed and calibrated the water model. Recommendations for current and future water
system improvements were incorporated into the city's water system capitol improvements plan.

. City of Augusto, Georgia Water Distribution System Model. Mr. Bean was responsible for constructing a model of the water
distribution system. The model was used to make recommendations to eliminate large pressure variations in Centro I Business
District by determining the correct downstream settings of all pressure reducing valves. The calibrated model was also used to
conduct studies on the movement of pressure zone boundaries and to size and place additional storage.

. Shemya Air Force Bose, Shemya, Alaska Water Distribution System Analysis. Mr. Bean participated as team member in
conducting pump efficiency tests, lass of head tests, ond consumption measurements.

. Edmond, Oklahoma Water Distribution Moster Plan. Mr. Bean constructed and calibrated 0 model of the water distribution
system. The model was used to make recommendations for the location of additional sources of supply to the system. The
model was also used to size reinforcements for future growth in the system.

. Broken Bow, Oklahoma Computer Model. Mr. Bean constructed and calibrated 0 model of the water distribution system. The
model was used to conduct 0 surge analysis of the entire system by others.
