MINUTES <br />1. The Board of Adjustment meeting was called to order by Chairman Terry <br />Christian at 12:03 p.m. <br />A. The following members were present: <br />Terry Christian, Chairman <br />Kyle McCarley <br />Chester Martindale <br />Rodney Bass <br />David Glass <br />B. The following members were absent: <br />Howard Corriston <br />Alternates: Louis Yates <br />C. Also present was Robert Talley, Code Enforcement Officer. <br />2. Approval of minutes from previous meetings. Motion to approve the minutes <br />of the July 8, 2008, meeting was made by David Glass, seconded by Rodney <br />Bass. Motion carried 5-0. <br />3. Public hearing to consider the petition of PETCO to grant a variance of <br />Section 28-23(1) of the Sign Ordinance which provides that "the total area per <br />face of an attached sign shall not exceed one (1) square foot of face area per <br />front foot of /eased or occupied fascia length," to allow 1.525 square feet of <br />sign face area per fronf foot of occupied fascia length on Lot 1, Block A, Petco <br />Plaza, being number 3900 Lamar Avenue (variance to apply to the suite <br />occupied by PETCO only). <br />The public hearing was declared open. <br />The following individuals spoke in favor. <br />Alex Pickering, Scott's Custom Signs, spoke in favor of the petition. <br />The following individuals spoke in opposition. <br />Pete Sisson, 3930 Oleander, spoke in opposition of the petition. Mr. Sisson <br />stated he doesn't think it should go because of strict rules put on local <br />businesses. <br />m UU002S <br />
