<br />ORDINANCE NO. 2001-022 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, <br />PARIS, TEXAS, PROVIDING FOR THE EXTENSION OF CERTAIN <br />BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, AND THE <br />ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN TERRITORY CONSISTING OF 48.42 <br />ACRES, MORE OR LESS, AS REQUESTED BY PETITION OF THE <br />OWNERS THEREOF; GRANTING TO SAID TERRITORY AND TO ALL <br />FUTURE INHABITANTS OF SAID PROPERTY ALL OF THE RIGHTS <br />AND PRIVILEGES OF OTHER CITIZENS AND BINDING SAID FUTURE <br />INHABITANTS BY ALL OF THE ACTS AND ORDINANCES OF THE <br />CITY OF PARIS; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS <br />RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR <br />PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND PROVIDING <br />AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a petition of annexation has been duly signed and acknowledged by each and <br />every person or corporation having an interest in the following described territory, to-wit: <br /> <br />Being all that certain tract ofland located 4.5 miles 480 East of the City of <br />Paris, Lamar County, Texas; being a part ofa 128.76 acre tract; being a part of the <br />Wesley Askins Survey, Abstract No.7; being a part ofa called 138.5 acre tract of <br />land conveyed to C. L. Darnell by deed dated February 5, 1984, and recorded in <br />Volume 667, Page 682 ofthe Deed Records of Lamar County, Texas; and being more <br />particularly described as follows: <br />BEGINNING at a point in the existing city limit line of the city of Paris as <br />described in Tract 5 of Ordinance No. 97-059, passed and adopted by the City <br />Council of the City of Paris on December 15, 1997, said point being a distance of500 <br />feet from the centerline ofF.M. Highway 195 and being located in an existing fence <br />line found in the west line of the said 128.76 acre tract ofland and the east line ofa <br />3 acre tract ofland conveyed to John L. Simmons and wife, Brenda C. Simmons, on <br />May 10, 1993, and recorded in Volume 359, Page 10 of the Lamar County Real <br />Property Records, and the east line of a 1.52 acre tract of land conveyed to John L. <br />Simmons and wife, Brenda C. Simmons, on May 10, 1993, and recorded in Volume <br />359, Page 10 of the Lamar County Real Property Records; <br />THENCE North 30 32' 48" West with said existing fence line and the east line <br />of said 3 acre tract ofland and the east line of said 1. 52 acre tract ofland a distance <br />of 128.70 feet, more or less, to a found iron rod; <br />THENCE North 880 59' 35" West with the South line of said 128.76 acre tract <br />ofland and the north line of the said 1.52 acre tract ofland a distance of553.34 feet <br />to a found iron rod at the northwest corner of the said 1.52 acre tract ofland; <br />THENCE North 10 10' 07" West with a fence a distance of 96.46 feet to a <br />found iron rod; <br />
