<br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris desires to accept the certification by the <br />City Clerk of the aforesaid petition to the effect that said petition contains the required number of <br />qualified voters as stated in Section 141.034 of the Texas Local Government Code to validate said <br />petition with regard to sufficient signatures, and for no other purpose; NOW, THEREFORE, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in all <br />things approved. <br /> <br />Section 2. That the City Council of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, does hereby in all <br />things accept the certification by the City Clerk of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, that a petition <br />filed pursuant to Section 141.034 of the Texas Local Government Code with the City Clerk <br />seeking increases in the minimum salaries of stated members of the Paris Fire Department contains <br />the minimum number of signatures as required by Section 141.034 to validate said petition with <br />regard to sufficient signatures, and for no other purpose. <br /> <br />Section 3. That the actions of the City Council as contained in this resolution in accepting <br />the certification of the City Clerk shall not be construed as to a validation of the sufficiency of the <br />aforesaid petition with regard to the minimum salaries or the pay classifications for which <br />minimum salaries are sought, and the existing pay classifications for firefighters as previously <br />established by the City of Paris are hereby in all things affirmed. <br /> <br />Section 4.
