The Garage Department is responsible for the maintenance and servicing of City owned vehicles, equipment and machinery. 51 Health Unit Health The City, 'in conjunction with Lamar County and the State of Texas, operates the Paris-Lamar County Health Department. The Health Department is responsible for protecting the public health through immunization programs, health inspections, mosquito control, food handlers training, well baby clinics, and family planning programs. A Rural Health Clinic is also operated within the Health Department offering the services of a Family Nurse Practitioner directed by a physician. The Women, Infants and Children program(WIC) also operates in this location. WIC is a federal state funded program for nutrition counseling and assistance, for women and children. WIC is funded entirely through the State, while the shortfall in the other operations is funded 50/50 by the City and Lamar County. , '. 54 Emergency Medical Service Emergency Medical The Emergency Medical Service is responsible for providing emergency ambulance service to the community, including Lamar County residents outside the City limits. Lamar County contributes to the expenses of the department by contract. 61 Cox Field Airport Airport Cox Field is the City's owned and operated Municipal Airport. The department collects revenues from fuel sales by the fixed base oper..ator who leases space from the City and from the rental of hanger space. Airport.facilities are rflaintained for commercial and general aviation activities to provide transportation opportunities and promote business and industrial economic activity. 62 Paris Band Municipal Band The Paris Municipal Band is a tradition in our City. Talented local musicians perform throughout the summer months with frequent guest artists making appearances. Paris is one of the few towns which continues to have a municipal band.
