MINUTES REGULAR MEETING CITY OF PARIS BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT CITY OF PARIS - CITY HALL COUNCIL CHAMBERS 107 E. KAUFMAN STREET PARIS. TEXAS TUESDAY OCTOBER 7 2008 12:00 O'CLOCK P.M. 1. The Board of Adjustment meeting was called to order by Chairman Terry Christian at 12:00 p.m. A. The following members were present: Terry Christian, Chairman Chester Martindale Rodney Bass Louis Yates B. The following members were absent: Howard Corriston Alternates: Louis Yates David Glass C. Also presentwas Lisa A. Wright, Community Development Directorand Kevin Kear, City Councilman. 2. Approval of minutes from previous meetings. Motion to approve the minutes of the September 2, 2008, meeting was made by Rodney Bass, seconded by Louis Yates. Motion carried 4-0. 3. Public hearing and consideration of and action on the petition of Charles T. Guy to grant a variance of Zoning Ordinance No. 1710 as follows: (1) Section 9-502 to reduce the required front yard sefback from 33' (established building line) to 4; which would be a 29' variance; and (2) Section 9-601 to reduce the required side yard setback from 5' to 416'; which would be a 6" variance, on Lot 1, B►ock 7, Mayer Addition, being number 3051 Bonham Street. Public hearing was declared open. The following individuals spoke in favor. Charles T. Guy, 3051 Bonham Street, Mr Guy stated this is his mothers house. She has been in a wheelchair since 1986 except when on walker. Doctor wants her to get fresh air. Need the carport so she can sit outside and not be in the grass. Mr. Guy further stated if it's raining and he needs to take her somewhere, she moves slowly and takes a long time and they get soaked. Also wants carport just to cover cars. On line, can buy a kit so it will save him money. Needs a four space carport to put all the cars and wants a dry place to work. No one spoke in opposition. " 0 0 0'")
