DRAFT <br />attorney\reswork\current\Fair Housing Proc Res 2009 <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, <br />APPROVING A PROCLAMATION DECLARIIVG THE MONTH OF APRIL AS <br />FAIR HOUSING MONTH; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS <br />RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris is supportive of Title VIII of the Civil <br />Rights Act of 1968, as amended, which prohibits discrimination in housing; and, <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor of the City of Paris has executed a Proclamation in the form <br />shown in Exhibit A, attached hereto, proclaiming the month of April as "Fair Housing <br />Month" in the City of Paris; and, <br />WHEREAS, it is deemed to be in the best interests of the City of Paris that the City <br />Council of the City of Paris show support of the Fair Housing law by approving said <br />proclamation; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />PARIS, TEXAS: <br />Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby <br />in all things approved. <br />Section 2. That the Proclamation proclaiming April as "Fair Housing Month" in <br />the City of Paris in the form shown in Exhibit A attached hereto, be, and the same is hereby, <br />approved. <br />Section 3.
