the last performance of my son and I just can't do it again (I know you can sympathize, and it doesn't get any
easier when they are in college). Let me know where we go now...
Edwin
From: Kevin Carruth [mailto:kcarruth@paristexas.gov]
Sent: Tuesday, February 17, 2009 1:07 PM
To: Edwin
Subject: Stimulus Applications; Community Development
The water and wastewater infrastructure applications we submitted for funding through economic stimulus program are
attached. The projects selected come almost exclusively from our 10-year capital plan.
I understand from Janice that your agenda item request about the Community Development Department is to see what
my recommendations are for any restructuring. Given that (1) Council was emphatic about not restructuring last
summer, (2) there is no room in the budget for making any changes unless other departments are reduced, (3) we are
still in the evaluation process with Bureau Veritas, and (4) Pete and I are still working on the feasibility of moving the
Main Street Director's position under PEDC, I do not think there is anything we can do about restructuring at this point.
am not going to post the Main Street position until we know where it will reside. Regardless of any changes to Main
Street or with Bureau Veritas we will still need a department head and I see no reason not to post that position now,
especially given everything that the department is responsible for. What do you think?
Kevin Carruth
Cit?y of Faris
Cibi tytanager
(903) 734-9202V .ork
kcarruth@paristexas.gov
P.O.
