MINUTES <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />CITY OF PARIS HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />MONDAY, NOVEMBER 12, 2008 <br />12:00 0'CLOCK P.M. <br />1. The Historic Preservation Commission meeting was called to order by Arvin Starrett, <br />Chairman. <br />A. The following members were present: <br />Arvin Starrett, Chairman <br />Paul Denney, Vice Chairman <br />Brad Archer (arrived at 4:05) <br />Ben Vaughan <br />Susan Scholz, Secretary <br />Matt Coyle <br />B. The following member was absent: <br />Jerry Raper <br />C. Also present was Lisa Wright, Historic Preservation Officer, and Bethany Golden, <br />Main Street Manager. <br />2. Approval of minutes from previous minutes. (October 27, 2008) Motion was made by <br />Susan Scholz, seconded by Paul Denney to approve minutes for October 27, 2008. <br />Motion carried 6-0. <br />3. Consideration of and action on the following Certificate of Appropriateness: <br />A. 718 S. Main Street - John and Denise Williams - Motion was made by Susan <br />Scholz, seconded by Brad Archer to remove item from the table. Motion carried 6-0. <br />Lisa Wright advised the Commissioners that, as previously discussed, she contacted the <br />Williamses and told them the Commission would grant them a facade grant to help pay <br />for more accurate looking mailboxes. She said that Denise Williams advised her they <br />had already ordered the mailboxes and put numbers on them so they could not be <br />returned. She stated that she then advised Ms. Williams that perhaps they could powder <br />coat the mailboxes to help and said she advised that she would need to attend the next <br />meeting to present the request. Although Ms. Williams appeared to agree with this <br />solution, she was not at the meeting. Motion was made by Ben Vaughan, seconded by <br />Susan Scholz, to deny the COA. Motion carried 6-0. <br />C. 152 "d Street N.E. - Andrea Brisco - Alan Perry and Andrea Brisco stated they <br />will place signs on three windaws and on door. Motion was made by Susan Scholz, <br />seconded by Paul Denney, to approve the COA. Motion carried 6-0. <br />D. 6 Clarksville Street - Artesia Enterprises - Withdrawn. <br />, u0»o1', <br />
