SUBMIT APPLICA710N: Submit all the required application materials to the Community <br />Development Department at 150 1st Street S.E. The Community Development Department Staff <br />cannot accept an incomplete application. <br />WHAT ARE THE ACCESSIBILITY PLAN REVIEW REQUIREMENTS? <br />Public buildings and buildings defined as either a"public accommodation" or a"commercial building" by the <br />Americans with Disabilities Act must be designed and consiructed to be accessible and functional for persons <br />with disabilities. The design and construction of new buildings AND any substantial renovation, modification, <br />or alteration of existing buildings mentioned above must meet the requirements of the Texas Accessibility <br />Standards (TAS). If a building or building remodel projeci has an estimated construction cost of $50,000 or <br />more, the owner or the design professional with overall responsibility for the design of the project must <br />submit the plans and specifications for review to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation or an <br />Independent Contract Provider. The purpose of this plan review is to ensure compliance with the Texas <br />Accessibility Standards (TAS). A current list of Independent Contract Providers can be obtained by calling <br />the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, Architectural Barriers Division at (877) 278-0999. You <br />may also search a list on the TDLR website at: http://www.license.staie.tx.us/LicenseSearch/. The City of <br />Paris is required by State law to verify that an Architectural Barriers Project Registration form has been <br />properly filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, where registration and plan review <br />is required by law, before a building permit can be issued. Copies of the Architectural Baniers Project <br />Registration form may be downloaded from the TDLR website at http://www.tdlr.state.tx.us/ab/abforms.htm. <br />lf you have questions about how the Architectural Barriers Act, and Texas Accessibility Standards might <br />affect your building project, call the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, Architectural Barriers <br />Division at (877) 278-0999. <br />WHICH BUILDING CODES AM I REQUIRED TO FOLLOW? <br />All construction work musi conform to the requirements of the following codes: <br />• 2003 Intemational Buitding Code (IBC) <br />• 2001 International Plumbing Code (IPC) as it relates to non-residential and multi-family <br />structures <br />• 2001 Intemational Residential Code for One and Two-Family Dwellings (IRC) <br />• 2001 International Plumbing Code (IPC) as it relates to one- and two-famity residential <br />structures <br />• 2002 International Electrical Code (IEC), <br />• 1994 Standard Fire Prevention Code <br />It is the responsibility of the contractor to become familiar with ihese codes. <br />- 000205 <br />
