Memorandum
TO: Officer Derek Belcher
FROM: Interim Chief Bob Hundley
SUBJECT: Commendation
Date: 03/31 /2009
Officer Belcher;
I want to share with you the e-mail text I received from Nikki Chennault regarding
a phone call she received in dispatch.
Buster Quisenberry called wanting to talk about how nice one of our Officers was
yesterday. His wife has very bad back problems and the Officer saw her walking
out to get the paper, he stopped, asked her if she needed any help, she said no,
but the Officer got out of the vehicle anyways and picked the paper up for her so
she didn't have to. Mr. Quisenberry also said that the Officer waited in his vehicle
until she was up the steps and inside the house before he left making sure she
got inside safely. He wanted to express his appreciation and say how nice it was
of the Officer to be so considerate. He said it truly reflects what a great Police
Department the City of Paris has with Officers like this. He did not want anyone
to contact him, just wanted to say thanks. Just in case I got his number 785-3295
and this happened at 2430 Beverly Dr sometime yesterday, 1'm assuming
moming but when I asked he didn't answer, he is a little hard of hearing. By the
way 269-Derek Belcher worked section 2 yesterday on Womack's shift. I thought
you might like to hear this since we get so much bad information about our
Officers, he was almost in tears talking to me about this and how it made him and
his wife feel.
Thanks,
Nikki - Dispatch
I asked Sgt. Moree to find out who this officer was and he determined it was you.
I want to commend you for your actions and tell you how much I and the
department appreciate what you did.
w ~~t)U~i~,}
