be responsible for providing the equipment, installation and <br />maintenance of said equipment in a manner to strengthen the <br />radio signal. The radio signal shall meet the minimum <br />input/output strengths according to the emergency radio <br />system's provider and fire department's communications <br />officer. <br />(44) Section 704.1 shall be amended to read as follows: <br />704.1 Enclosure. Interior vertical shafts, including but not <br />limited to stairways, elevator hoistways, service and utility <br />shafts, that connect two or more stories of a building shall be <br />enclosed or protected in accordance with the codes in effect at <br />the time of construction but, regardless of when constructed, <br />not less than as specified in Table 704.1. When openings are <br />required to be protected, openings into such shafts shall be <br />maintained self-closing or automatic-closing by smoke <br />detection. Existing fusible-link-type automatic door-closing <br />devices are permitted if the fusible link rating does not exceed <br />135° F (57° C). <br />(45) Section 807.4.3.2 and Section 807.4.4.2 shall each be amended <br />to add the following exception: <br />Exception: Corridors protected by an approved automatic <br />sprinkler system installed in accordance with Section 903.3.1.1 <br />shall be limited to 50 percent of the wall area. <br />(46) Section 901,5 shall be amended to read as follows: <br />901.5 Installation acceptance testing. Fire detection and <br />alarm systems, fire-extinguishing systems, fire hydrant systems, <br />fire standpipe systems, fire pump systems, private fire service <br />mains and all other fire protection systems and appurtenances <br />thereto shall be subject to acceptance tests as contained in the <br />installation standards and as approved by the Fire Code Official. <br />The Fire Code Official shall be notified before any required <br />acceptance testing. <br />All required tests shall be conducted by and at the <br />expense of the owner or his representative. The Fire <br />Department shall not be held responsible for any damages <br />incurred in such test. Where it is required that the Fire <br />Department witness any such test, such test shall be scheduled <br />18 <br />m 000186 <br />
