balconies or within 10 feet (3048 mm) of combustible <br />construction. <br />Exceptions: <br />1. One- and two-family dwellings may have containers <br />with a water capacity not greater than 5 gallons <br />[nomina121 pound (9.08 kg) LP-gas capacity] with an <br />aggregate capacity not to exceed 100 lbs (5 <br />containers). <br />2. Other residential occupancies where buildings, <br />balconies and decks are protected by an approved <br />automatic sprinkler system, may have containers <br />with a water capacity not greater than 5 gallons <br />[nominal 21 pound (9.08 kg) LP-gas capacity] with an <br />aggregate capacity not to exceed 40 lbs (2 <br />containers). <br />Section 401.3 shall be amended by adding a new Section 401.3.4, Fire <br />Alarms and Nuisance Alarms, that shall read as follows: <br />False alarms shall not be given, signaled, or transmitted or <br />caused or permitted to be given, signaled, or transmitted in any <br />manner. <br />Section 408.5.4, Drill frequency, shall be amended to read as follows: <br />Emergency evacuation drills shall be conducted at least <br />twelve times per year, four times per year on each shift. <br />Section 503.1.1, Buildings and facilities, shall be amended to add the <br />following language to the first paragraph: <br />Except for single- or two-family residences, the 150 feet <br />(150') shall be measured along a ten foot (10') wide <br />unobstructed pathway around the external walls of the <br />structure. The grade shall not exceed six (6) percent. The <br />provision of this section notwithstanding, fire lanes may be <br />required to be located within thirty (30') feet of a building, if <br />deemed to be reasonably necessary by the Fire Code Official, to <br />enable proper protection of the building. A five (5') foot wide <br />level pathway shall be provided unobstructed through all <br />barriers.
