Section 1. The findings set out in the preamble to this ordinance are hereby in all <br />things approved. <br />Section 2. Article III, Fire Reserve Unit, Sections 12-51 through 12-66, of Chapter <br />12 of the City of Paris Code of Ordinances be, and hereby is repealed in its entirety. <br />Section 3. Article IV, Fire Prevention Code, Sections 12-86 through 12-89, of <br />Chapter 12 of the City of Paris Code of Ordinances be, and hereby is repealed in its entirety. <br />Section 4. Chapter 12 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris, be and the <br />same is hereby amended by establishing a new Article III, entitled Fire Code, to read in its <br />entirety as follows: <br />"ARTICLE III. FIRE CODE <br />Sec.12-51. Adoption of International Fire Code. <br />There is hereby adopted by the City Council of the City of Paris, Texas, <br />for the purpose of prescribing regulations governing conditions hazardous to <br />life and property, those certain codes knows as the 2006 Edition of the <br />International Fire Code, as amended including Appendices B, D, E, F and G, to <br />the same extent as if such Code were copied verbatim in this Article subject to <br />local amendments as set forth in this Article. Copies of the Codes and the <br />amendments thereto, as referenced herein, are on file in the office of the City <br />Clerk, City of Paris for permanent record and inspection. These copyrighted <br />standards and recommendations are adopted and designated as the official <br />Fire Code of the City of Paris, except to the extent they are in conflict with any <br />controlling Federal or State law. The standards are published by and are <br />available from the International Code Council, Country Club Hills, Illinois. A <br />copy of the 2006 International Fire Code shall be kept in each of the following <br />locations: The Paris City Library, the City Clerk's office, the Paris Fire <br />Marshal's office and the Office of Community Development. <br />Sec.12-52. Definitions. <br />(a) Jurisdiction shall mean the corporate city limits of the City of Paris, <br />Texas. <br />(b) Fire Code Official, or Fire Chief shall mean the Fire Marshal of the City of <br />Paris Fire Department. <br />(c) International Building Code or the International Existing Building Code <br />shall mean the Building Code as adopted and amended by the City of Paris, <br />Texas. <br />2 <br />w UG0~►~ <br />~ <br />
