DRAFT <br />attorney\reswork\current\Criminal Justice Grant Application Res 2009 <br />RESOLUTION N0. <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, <br />APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER AND OTHER CITY <br />OFFICIALS TO EXECUTE THE APPLICATION AND ALL OTHER NECESSARY <br />DOCUMENTS INCIDENT TO SEEKING A GRANT FROM THE CRIMINAL <br />JUSTICE DIVISION OF THE GOVERNOR'S OFFICE, FOR FUNDING FOR THE <br />JUSTICE ASSISTANCE GRANT (JAG) RECOVERY ACT PROGRAM FOR LIVE <br />SCAN FINGERPRINT EQUIPMENT; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND <br />PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, the Criminal Justice Division, of the Governor's Office, provides funding <br />for JAG Recovery Act Program Grants; and, <br />WHEREAS, the Ciry Council of the City of Paris is desirous of processing an <br />application through the JAG Recovery Act Program Grants to fund Live Scan Fingerprint <br />Equipment along with all necessary software interfaces for the CIS records management <br />system, at a total cost of $65,000.00, with no matching funds from the City of Paris. <br />WHEREAS, the City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager, Interim Police <br />Chief, and other appropriate City staff to make application, accept and implement said <br />grant, if same is received, without further action of City Council; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />PARIS, TEXAS: <br />Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby <br />in all things approved. <br />Section 2. That an application be made to the Criminal Justice Division of the <br />Governor's Office, to provide funding for the JAG Recovery Act Program Grant, in the <br />amount of $65,000.00, to pay for Live Scan Fingerprint Equipment along with all necessary <br />software interfaces for the CIS records management system. <br />Section 3. That the City Manager be, and he is hereby, appointed as the <br />Authorized Official of said project and is authorized and directed to execute, on behalf of <br />the City of Paris, an application for said grant, and the grant acceptance notice at such time <br />the grant is awarded. <br />Section 4. That the Interim Police Chief of the City of Paris be, and he is hereby, <br />appointed as Project Director and is hereby authorized to execute and deliver, on behalf of <br />the City of Paris, all reports, communications, assurances, and documents necessary for the <br />grant program. <br />lt V01'J5iJ <br />
