ADDENDUM #1 For the 2008-2009 Budget Year Water and Wastewater Capital Improvements For the City of Paris, Tezas HEI # 180037-28B June 2009 The contract documents shall be changed as outlined below: l. Replace the original bid schedule with the attached bid schedule. 2. All tapping sleeves and valves are to be provided by the OWNER. 3. All Certa-Lok pipe is to be provided by the OWNER. 4. Use 1" poly tubing as required by the construction standards on page 7 oFthe drawings instead of'/a" as required on page 48 of the specifications. Other brands of poly tubing are acceptable to use as long as they meet the requirements (isted for Drisco brand of tubing. 5. On pa;e 2 of the drawings (Cleve(and Street), install caps at 20`h Street, 22°d Str eet, and 24~' Street where the drawings show to abandon the existing lines. 6. On page 3 of the drawings (Culbertson Street), install caps at 19'h Street, 22"d Street, and 24`h Street where the drawings show to abandon the existing lines. 7. Wrapid Seal is to be used on pre-cast manholes at the joint between the manhole frame and the manhole cone section when the manhole is not in the pavement. Wrapid Seal is also to be used at all joints between pre-cast manhole sections. Wrapid Seal is not required on cast-in-place manholes if the ring and cover is installed at the same time that the cone section is cast. The CONTRACTOR is to supply the Wrapid Seal. 8. Pre-cast manhole bottom sections are not allowed due to the OWNER'S requirement that incoming pipes be supported for 5 feet outside the manhole with a concrete cradle that is poured monolithically with the base. 9. Page 73 of the specifications requires connections between existing sewer lines and manholes to use ductile iron pipe. Change this requirement to PVC pipe instead of DIP. 10. Eliminate the inside manhole drop structure detail shown on page 5 of the drawings. Replace it with the attached City of Paris standard detail. Provide SDR-35 PVC fittings. The OWNER will provide the pipe. 11. At STA 12+17 on page 4 of the drawings, install by-pass piping around the existing manhole while it is being removed and replaced. Remove the by-pass piping and connect the sewer lines to the new manhole after successful testing of the manhole and the new sewer line has been completed. Additionally, there is a 6" sewer line coming in at 12:00. Verify the depth before ordering pre-cast manhole sections. 12. The tracer wire described on page 74 of the specifications shall be insulated. 13. The corrosion-resistant liner for pre-cast manhole sections shall be factory-applied. The factory shall submit a statement documenting that the 28-day cure time was allowed to take place before the liner was applied. On cast-in-place manholes the pipes and fittings will be installed through the manhole and the tops will not be cut out until the concrete has cured 28 days and the w4~ls have been thoroughly dried before applying the liner. ~ 000264
