DRAFT <br />attorney\reswork\current\CJD Felony Crimes Unit Grant Program - Amend Res 2009-097 <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUIVCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, <br />AMENDING RESOLUTION N0. 2009-097 WHICH AUTHORIZED AN <br />APPLICATION FOR FUIVDING FOR LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT GRANTS <br />FOR THE CONTINUATION OF THE LAMAR COUNTY FELONY CRIMES <br />UNIT, TO CORRECT THE NAME OF THE SOURCE OF THE GRANT; MAKING <br />OTHER FINDINGS A11iD PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND <br />DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Paris did heretofore, on the 28th day of <br />September, 2009, pass Resolution No. 2009-097, which authorized an application for <br />funding for local law enforcement grant for the continuation of the Lamar County Felony <br />Crimes Unit; and, <br />WHEREAS, the name of the source of the law enforcement grant needs to be <br />corrected from the United States Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Assistance to the <br />Governor's Office, Criminal Justice Division. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />PARIS, TEXAS: <br />Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble of this resolution are hereby <br />in all things approved. <br />Section 2. That Resolution No. 2009-097, be, and the same is hereby, amended so <br />that such shall read as follows: <br />"A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, <br />AUTHORIZING AN INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF <br />PARIS, TEXAS AND LAMAR COUNTY, TEXAS TO MAKE APPLICATION TO <br />THE GOVERNOR'S OFFICE, CRIMIIVAL JUSTICE DIVISIOIV FOR A GRANT <br />FOR THE CONTINUATION OF THE LAMAR COUNTY FELONY CRIMES <br />UNIT; ACCEPTING SAID GRANT AWARD UPON NOTICE THEREOF; <br />AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A1VY AND ALL DOCUMENTS <br />NECESSARY FOR ACCEPTANCE AND IMPLEMENTATION OF SAID GRANT <br />UPON NOTICE THEREOF; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS <br />RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, the Governor's Office, Criminal Justice Division, provides funding for <br />local law enforcement grants; and, <br />WHEREAS, the City of Paris and Lamar County mutually desire to enter into an <br />Interlocal Agreement to file a joint application to the Criminal Justice Division for a Law <br />4. 4 <br />
