RESOLUTION NO. 2009-1 1 9 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, <br />AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 2009-059 WHICH AUTHORIZED AN <br />APPLICATION FOR FUNDING FOR THE JUSTICE ASSISTANCE GRANT <br />(JAG) RECOVERY ACT PROGRAM FOR LIVE SCAN FINGERPRINT <br />EQUIPMENT, TO ADD REQUIRED WORDING TO THE RESOLUTION; <br />MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE <br />SUBJECT; A1VD DECLARIIVG AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the Ciry of Paris did heretofore, on the 81h day of June, <br />2009, pass Resolution No. 2009-059, which authorized an application for funding for the <br />Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Recovery Act Program for Live Scan Fingerprint Equipment <br />for the Paris Police Department; and, <br />WHEREAS, Resolution No. 2009-059 was amended by Resolution No. 2009-085 <br />correcting the amount of the grant from $65,000.00 to $61,500. <br />WHEREAS, Resolution No. 2009-059 needs to be further amended by adding <br />required wording that in the event of loss or misuse of the Criminal Justice Division funds, <br />the City Council assures that the funds will be returned to the Criminal Justice Division in <br />full. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />PARIS, TEXAS: <br />Section 1. That the findings set out in the preamble of this resolution are hereby <br />in all things approved. <br />Section 2. That Resolution No. 2009-059, be, and the same is hereby, amended so <br />that such shall read as follows: <br />"A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, <br />TEXAS, APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER AND <br />OTHER CITY OFFICIALS TO EXECUTE THE APPLICATION AND ALL <br />OTHER NECESSARY DOCUMEIVTS IIVCIDENT TO SEEKING A GRANT <br />FROM THE CRIMINAL jUSTICE DIVISION OF THE GOVERIVOR'S <br />OFFICE, FOR FUNDING FOR THE JUSTICE ASSISTANCE GRANT <br />(JAG) RECOVERY ACT PROGRAM FOR LIVE SCAN FINGERPRINT <br />EQUIPMEIVT; MAKIIVG OTHER FINDIIVGS AND PROVISIONS <br />RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE. <br />WHEREAS, the Criminal Justice Division, of the Governor's Office, <br />provides funding for JAG Recovery Act Program Grants; and, <br />
