DRAFT <br />attorney\reswork\current\Appointments to Boards & Commissions 2010 <br />RESOLUTION N0. <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, <br />APPOIIVTING MEMBERS TO VARIOUS CITY OF PARIS BOARDS AND <br />COMMISSIONS, IN ACCORDANCE WITH POLICIES AND PROCEDURES FOR <br />STANDING BOARDS, COMMISSIONS AND COMMITTEES; MAKIIVG OTHER <br />FINDIIVGS AND PROVISIOIVS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, on February 11, 2008 the City Council approved new Policies and Procedures <br />for Standing Boards, Commissions and Committees for the City of Paris; and, <br />WHEREAS, in accordance with the policies and procedures these standing boards and <br />commissions will be composed of seven members and will serve three year terms; and, <br />WHEREAS, the committees shall include one Council Member liaison appointed as <br />ex-officio member and shall include one or more City staff liaisons appointed as ex-officio <br />members with the Mayor and City Manager serving as ex-officio members to each committee; <br />and, <br />WHEREAS, appointments will be made at the first Council Meeting in April of each year <br />with all terms beginning on May 1 and ending on Apri130 of each year; and, <br />WHEREAS, the Boards and Commissions with members' terms expiring on April 30, <br />2010 are as follows: <br />Airport Advisory Board Band Commission: Bill Boothe & Glen Chapman <br />Band Commission: Patsy Daniels (At-large) & Stephen L. Gerrald <br />Building & Standards Commission: Ryan Lassiter & Zach Saffle <br />Historic Preservation Commission: Matthew Coyle (Main Street) & Paul Denney (Architect) <br />Library Advisory Board: Deborah Hatley & Hilda Mallory <br />Main Street Advisory Board: Marvin Gorley & Matthew <br />Paris Economic Development Corporation Board: John Wright <br />Paris/Lamar County Advisory Board of Health: Dr. David Carpenter (Dr. of Medicine & <br />Mrs. Denise Williams (citizen) <br />Planning & Zoning Commission: Richard Hunt & Darin Manning <br />Traffic Commission: Bee Garmon, George Kimbrough & Jon McFadden <br />WHEREAS, it is deemed appropriate that board and commission members be appointed <br />and/or reappointed at this time to serve the terms beginning May 1, 2010 to April 30, 2012. <br />n <br />. <br /> <br />
