17. Implementation - As an expression of the standards of cond <br />expected by the town, the Wendell Cade of Ethics is inten <br />en£orcing. It therefore becomes most effective when members <br />familiar with it and ernbrace its provisions. For this reason, ethica <br />be included in the regular orientations for candidates for the board o <br />applicants to advisory board / commissions, and newiy eiected <br />officials. Members entering office shall sign a statement affirmi <br />understood the Town of Wendell Code of Ethics. In addition, the <br />shall be annually reviewed by the board of commissioners and a <br />commissions, and the board of commissioners shall consider <br />from the advisory boards / commissions and update it as necessary. <br />18. Compliance and Enforcement - The Town of Wendell <br />expresses standards of ethical conduct expected for members <br />Board of Commissioners and advisory boards / commiss. <br />themselves ha.ve the primary responsibility to assure that ethic <br />understood and met, and that the public can continue to have i <br />the integrity of government. <br />Any citizen of Wendell has the right and responsibility to intervene <br />members that appear to be in violation of the Code of Ethics are <br />attention. The boazd of commissioners may impose sanctions on n <br />board member when their conduct does not comply with the <br />standards. Sanctions may take the form of a reprimand, formal <br />seniority or committee assignment, budget restriction, or rem <br />advisory board.
