(c) No current board or commission member shall personally ap ear on heir own <br />behalf before the board or commission upon which they serve, but may design e and be <br />represented by a person of their choice in any such business matter. Board or co issio members <br />are prohibited from engaging in private discussions with any applicant or owner egardi issues to <br />be considered by their board or commission or from seeking to influence t e outco e of any <br />decision outside of a public meeting. 1 r <br />Section 3.6. Additional Standards of Conduct. <br />(a) Conflicting Outside Employment <br />(i) The purpose of this provision is to prevent conflicts of i~terest, Inflicts of <br />loyalty, and loss of efficiency at work. <br />(ii) This provision does not prevent employees or officials frm acce ting other <br />employment or following any pursuit which in no way nterfer with the <br />full and faithful discharge of their public duties, rovide that the <br />employees comply with all applicable City requirement . <br />(iii) A city official or paid city employee shall not solicit, a cept or engage in <br />concurrent outside employment or enter into any co ract w ich could <br />impair independence of judgment in, or the faithful pe ormanof, their <br />official duties, or that results in a conflict of interest wit their ties as an <br />official or employee of the City. <br />(iv) City employees must inform their supervisor before en aging off-duty <br />employment. City employees must consider the policy p ose Id must be <br />aware of the policy and general rule as stated above. <br />(b) Political Activity <br />(i) Limitations on the political activities of city officials d em oyees are <br />imposed by State law, the City Charter, and City p sonnel rIn <br />addition, the following ethical restrictions apply. 7 (ii) No employee shall solicit or receive contributions to the ampai funds of <br />any candidate for city office or take part in the mana ement, ffairs, or <br />political campaign of any city candidate. Current m mbers f the city <br />council who are seeking re-election may engage in any a tivity o behalf of <br />their own campaign efforts. The following is a list of activiti s that are, <br />except as specifically provided otherwise, permissib e withi the sole <br />discretion of the individual employees. <br />(A) The placement of campaign signs on premises owned ty the city <br />employee. <br />5 <br />98 <br />
