Add two sentences to the end of the definition of "Bonfire" <br />that reads: Bonfires shall not be any larger than 20X20X12 prior <br />to ignition and the fuel shall not be constructed to be higher <br />than twelve (12) feet. The Fire Code Official may allow <br />projections to be higher than twelve (12) feet if, in his opinion, <br />the hazard is not increased by allowing such. <br />Add a sentence to the end of the definition of "Open <br />Burning" that reads: Recreational fires and bonfires are types of <br />open burning. <br />Section 307.2.2, Restricted Outdoor Burning, shall be added to read as <br />follows: <br />It shall be unlawful for a person, to ignite or burn <br />materials when the Fire Code Official or other proper authority <br />has determined a"No Burn Day". <br />Section 3074, Location, shall be amended to read as follows: <br />The location for open burning shall not be less than 300 <br />feet from any structure, and provisions shall be made to prevent <br />the fire from spreading to within 300 feet of any structure. <br />Exceptions: <br />1. The minimum required distance shall be 150 feet from <br />structures that are under the legal control of the permit <br />holder, provided that such qualifying structures contain no <br />sensitive receptors and have an exterior surface made <br />entirely of non-combustible material. <br />2. The Fire Code Official may reduce the required distance in <br />circumstances where he deems safe to do so. This <br />exception does not apply to disposal fires. <br />Section 307.4.1 and Section 3074.2, shall be deleted. <br />Section 308.3.1, Open flame cooking and heating devices, shall be <br />amended to read as follows: <br />Open-flame cooking devices, charcoal grills, outdoor <br />fireplaces and other similar devices used for cooking, heating, <br />or any other purpose shall not be located or used on <br />combustible balconies, decks, or within 10 feet of combustible <br />construction. <br />Exceptions: <br />10 <br />
