RECOMMENDED MOTION: Move to approve a resolution authorizing a professional services contract with Hayter Engineering for the design, plans, and specifications for the Safe Routes to School project POLICY ISSUE(S): Contract BACKGROUND: The City of Paris has an Advanced Funding Agreement (AFA) with TxDOT for the installation of sidewalks, signage, and pavement markings for creating safe routes for children traveling to and from Justiss Elementary and Crockett Intermediate Schools. The project is funded by TxDOT through the Safe Routes to School Program with a maximum reimbursable amount of $500,000.00. A request for proposals was advertised in The Paris News asking interested consultants to submit proposals to the City of Paris for the Safe Routes to School project. Hayter was only response received. Staff recommends awarding a contract to Hayter Engineering for this project.
