390 laws; provided, however, that the general specifications shall govern the obligations of the <br />391 Contractor where there exists conflicting ordinances of the City on the subject. <br />392 <br />393 Section 16 - EFFECTIVE DATE <br />394 A Contract for landfill services shall be effective upon the execution of the contract and <br />395 performance of such contract shall begin on April 1, 2011. A Contract for residential collection <br />396 services shall be effective upon the execution of the contract and performance of such contract <br />397 shall begin on a negotiated date no later than August 31, 2011. <br />398 <br />399 Section 17 - LICENSES AND TAXES <br />400 The Contractor shall obtain and maintain all licenses and permits (other than the license and <br />401 pennit granted by ;e Contract) and promptly pay all taxes required by the City, ~ <br />402 <br />403 <br />404 Section 18 - TERM <br />405 The term of service for landfill services will be far a ten (10) year period, with an option to <br />406 renew for an additional ten (10) year period, beginning on April l, 2011, Either party may <br />407 cancel the contract by notifying the other party by certified mail a minimum of one (1) year prior <br />408 to the expiration date of the term. <br />409 <br />410 The term of service for residential collection services will be for a ten (10) year period, with an <br />411 option to renew for an additional ten (10) year period, beginning on a negotiated date no later <br />412 than August 31, 2011, Either party may cancel the contract by notifying the other party by <br />413 certified mail a minimum of one (1) year prior to the expiration date of the term. <br />414 <br />415 Section 19 - INSURANCE <br />416 The Contractor sha11 at all times during the Contract maintain in full force and effect employer's <br />417 liability, warker's compensation, public liability and property damage insurance, including <br />418 contractual liability coverage for the provisions of any service contemplated by this Agreement. <br />419 All insurance shall be by insurers licensed to do business in Texas and for policy limits <br />420 acceptable to the City; and, before commencement of work hereunder, the Contractor agrees to <br />421 furnish the City certificates of insurance or other evidence satisfactory to the City to the effect <br />422 that such insurance has been procured and is in force. The certificates shall contain the following <br />423 express obligations: <br />424 <br />425 "This is to certify that the policies of insurance described herein have been issued to the insured <br />426 for whom this certificate is executed and are in force at this time. The City is an additional <br />427 insured for all insurance policies except Worker's Compensation and Contractor shall provide a <br />428 Waiver of Subrogation in favor of the City.
