Paris Public Library Advisory Board
September 15, 2010
Minutes
The Paris Public Library Advisory Board met Wednesday, September 15, 2010, at 4 p.m. in the Library Gallery.
Chairman Bill Kennedy called the meeting to order. Director Priscilla McAnally attended as did Board
Members Hilda Mallory, Debbie Anderson, Linda Vandiver, Deborah Hatley, and Eddie Poole.
Minutes from the previous meeting were approved with the correction of the spelling of the Loan Star Library
Grant.
This year's grant will be for $8428. Courier costs of $1525 will come from that amount as will approximately
$450 for a fax machine. Other suggestions include approximately $2700 for revamping the partitions in the
restrooms. Ebooks will also be considered.
Interviews to fill the part-time clerk's position will take place September 28.
There were no unusual budget expenditures for the month of August. The statistical report reflected a
significant increase in both circulation and library visits.
The Director suggested that we change the circulation policy so that new cardholders are limited to four items at
a time for their first three months. There has been a problem with new cardholders taking out large numbers of
items and not bringing them back. The Board unanimously supported her in this policy change.
The Board asked Chairman Kennedy to contact Member Audrey Lakes to advise her that she had exceeded the
number of absences allowed by the bylaws and was therefore being removed from the Board.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
Submitted by:
1 L l
Debbie Anderson, secretary
- - 1.4
