"ARTICLE IV. FIRE AND RESCUE SERVICE FEES Sec. 12-55. Service and Fees. The City of Paris shall assess and collect fees for certain services rendered by the Fire Department. The fees for use of equipment and supplies set out in this Article shall be assessed and collected when such equipment and/or supplies are used in connection with the following events or incidents: 1. Vehicle fires, 2. Vehicle accidents, 3. Hazardous material spills or releases, and 4. Rescues or rescue attempts at low water crossings. Sec. 12-56. Fee Collection. (a) The owner or occupant of the motor vehicle to which the Paris Fire Department provides fire and/or rescue services (the "responsible party") shall pay the cost of such service; provided, however, no resident of the City of Paris shall be charged or billed for these services. (b) The Fire Department or its authorized billing company shall send an invoice to the responsible party for the cost of the services provided. Fees assessed for fire and rescue services as provided in this Article are due and payable by the responsible party within twenty (20) days of receipt of an invoice from the Fire Department or its authorized billing and collection company. (c) The Fire Chief or designee shall keep records of the costs incurred in performing fire and rescue services and shall coordinate with other departments of the City as necessary to collect the fees authorized by this Article. Sec. 12-58. Schedule of Fees.
