DRAFT <br />S:\RESWORK\CURRENT\Airport Cert Resolution for Improvements (Runway 14-32) RES 2010.docx <br />RESOLUTION N0. <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, <br />APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF AN AIRPORT <br />PROJECT PARTICIPATION AGREEMENT WITH TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF <br />TRANSPORATION AVIATION TO APPLY FOR FEDERAL FUNDING FOR <br />IMPROVEMENTS AT COX FIELD AIRPORT; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS <br />AND PROVISION RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, the City of Paris intends to make additional improvements to Cox Field, <br />specifically crack sealing Runway 14-32, taxiways A-1, B, C and apron, asphalt overlay of <br />parallel taxiway A and reconstruct headwall and culvert at terminal building; and, <br />WHEREAS, the general description of the project is described as: "Phase II Project - <br />2011 Runway 14-32 Overlay and Airfield Improvements"; and, <br />WHEREAS, the City of Paris intends to request financial assistance from the Texas <br />Department of Transportation for these improvements; and, <br />WHEREAS, total design and engineering costs for this project are estimated to be <br />$145,000, and the City of Paris will be responsible for 10% of the total project costs <br />currently estimated to be $14,500; and, <br />WHEREAS, the City of Paris names the Texas Department of Transportation as its <br />agent for the purposes of applying for, receiving and disbursing all funds for these <br />improvements and for the administration of contracts necessary for the implementation of <br />these improvements. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />PARIS, TEXAS THAT: <br />Section 1. The findings set out in the preamble to this resolution are hereby in <br />all things approved. <br />Section 2. The City Council supports and accepts Phase II Project 2011 Runway <br />14-32 Overlay and Airfield Improvements as described herein and authorizes the funding <br />of ten percent (10%) of the total project costs. <br />Section 3. The City of Paris hereby directs the City Manager to execute on behalf <br />of the City of Paris, at the appropriate time, and with the appropriate authorizations of this <br />governing body, all contracts and agreements with the State of Texas, represented by the <br />Texas Department of Transportation, and such other parties as shall be necessary and <br />appropriate for the implementation of Phase II Project - 2011 Runway 14-32 Overlay and <br />Airfield Improvement to Cox Field Airport. <br />4 <br /> <br />
