MINUTES <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />AIRPORT ADVISORY BOARD <br />CITY OF PARIS - CITY HALL <br />COUNCIL CHAMBERS <br />107 E. KAUFMAN STREET <br />PARIS, TEXAS <br />THURSDAY, JANUARY 20, 2011 <br />5:30 O'CLOCK PM <br />1. The Airport Advisory Board meeting was called to order by Chairman Jack Ashmore at <br />5:30 p.m. <br />A. The following members were present: <br />Jack Ashmore <br />Billy Copeland <br />Ray Ball <br />Vic Ressler <br />Fred Williams <br />Jerry Coyle <br />B. The following members were absent: <br />Steve Gilbert <br />C. Also present was Shawn Napier, Airport Director; Jeanna Scott, City Staff; Davis <br />White, Ex-Officio; Edwin Pickle, Council Member; and Jerry Richey Airport <br />Manager. <br />2. Appr•oval of minutes.from previous meeting. (October 21, 2010) <br />Motion was inade by Ray Ball, seconded by Jerry Coyle to approve the minutes for the <br />October 21, 20] 0 meeting. Motion carried 6-0. <br />3. ° Presentation, discussion and possible action on hosting an event for• East Texas <br />Broadcasting at the airport. <br />East Texas Broadcasting is group of 8 radio stations that cover from Mt. Pleasant to Paris. <br />The fastest growing music scene right now is the Texas red dirt music played on country <br />stations. They are currently looking for a facility that can host the Red Dirt Music Festival <br />that will be an all day event and pull 3,000 to 4,000 people. Criteria to host this event will <br />be the ability to sell beer, because the event is sponsored by beer companies. East Texas <br />Broadcasting will be responsible for all infrastructure, they will do massive advertising <br />campaign for the event on all 8 radio stations, including news paper other media. The <br />proposed date for this event is June 2011. Chairman Jack Ashmore appointed Jerry Coyle <br />and Ray Ball to a sub-committee to gather fizrther infonnation and bring back findings to <br />the Airport Advisory Board.
