Recommendatians for a shared vision statement, common objectives, and a"diversity campact" that <br />individuals can sign, to make a commitment to diversity on both a personal, professianal and organizational <br />level. <br />5. Other findings, insights, observation5, recommendations, etc. that are brougllt to light as a result of this <br />proce.5s. <br />6. Recammendations for tlie agenda, structure and focus for a community-wide ciiversity summit event, as <br />well as a separate yauth-focused summit event. <br />7. Identify and preseni best practices in diversity and inclusion, from the start, evolution and expansian to <br />show how they are integrated into the mission, vision, goals and values ofi an organization. This can be <br />fram existing companies or other organizations, both insidc and outside the region. This includes, but is <br />nat limited to the following: <br />• Best practices that highlighi organizational initiatives, policies, procedures, etc. to pranote diversity <br />and inclusion in the workplace; <br />• Examininb best practices in recruiting, managing and retaining a diverse workf'orce in various industry <br />sectors; <br />• Examining issues faced by various minority groups in society and in the workplace and ways to create <br />a mare inclusive enviranrnent for them, with special emphasis on two areas which are aften neglected - <br />veterans and disabled workers, <br />• Best practice strategies to attract critical lcnowledge, skills and abilities into the local and regional talent <br />pool, as well as, strategies for positioning our communitv for the economic recovery by identifying <br />employers of choice and showcasing our diverse warkforce as a competitive advantage; <br />■ Plan, organize and deliver the Paris Diversity Summit to provide an opporiunity for the public, private <br />anci non-profit secCors, as Nvel l as the diverse communities in Paris, to join together and hear about best <br />practices, receive inspiration about our possibilities and share their perspectives and ideas with each <br />other to make our community a better place, focusing on sotutians; <br />■ Aftei- the summit, produce a Diversity Summit Final Report with the purpase to summarize our summit <br />and share its highlights with our community and beyond. Also to identify local accamplishments, <br />continuing concerns and recommendations, and to explore and engage in conversations about where we <br />go from here. <br />8. Identifying key issues and obstacles as follows: <br />• Qpportunities for and barriers to economic growlh. <br />~ Economic development activities and resources. <br />• Capacity of the P-l6 educational institutions to meet current and future workforce needs. <br />■ Asset mapping for leveraging resources <br />9. Developing specific strategies. <br />• Develapment of a Diversity Training Program to inc(ude a toolkit for Small Business Qwners <br />10. Formulating Action Flans wSth consideration of financial resources <br />11. tdentifying Specific Implementatian Activities <br />12. Establishing a program to monitor results <br />The Contractor will be expected to determine the best methodology for addressing the issues identified.
