<br /> (Attachment) <br /> ATPA -7 <br /> <br /> Senior Detective <br /> <br /> The Senior Detective will be in charge of the day to day operations of <br /> <br /> the Auto Theft Task Force and shall be subject to the direct supervision of <br /> a Sergeant within the Criminal Investigations Division of the Paris Police <br /> <br /> Department and within the Department's Chain of Command up to the Chief of <br /> Police. The Senior Detective will be subject to such orders as the Chief of <br /> <br /> Police or his designee may prescribe, not inconsistent with the laws on the <br /> State of Texas or the mandates of the Texas Automobile Theft Prevention <br /> <br /> Authority grant. <br /> <br /> <br /> The Senior Detective shall devote 100% of his time to official duties, <br /> unless granted leave by the Chief of Police or his designee. The Senior <br /> <br /> Detective's responsibilities shall be: <br /> <br /> <br /> 1) Supervise the Task Force in all of its operations. <br /> <br /> 2) Keep the proper records and be responsible for the maintenance of <br /> <br /> all reports to the State of Texas and the Chief of Police. <br /> <br /> <br /> 3) Work with every responsible, legitimate group or agency in a <br /> cooperative effort to prevent motor vehicle theft by educating the <br /> <br /> public and law enforcement officers in the area of motor vehicle <br /> crimes. <br /> <br /> <br /> 4) Work diligently and relentlessly in the investigation of, and <br /> <br /> pursuit of, all crimes involving motor vehicles. <br /> <br /> <br /> 5) Enforce all laws relating to the theft of motor vehicles. <br /> <br /> <br /> 6) Assist in the prosecution of all those charged with the crime of <br /> motor vehicle theft or related crimes. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> ABTPA-8 <br /> - 1121 <br />
