<br /> <br /> <br /> Fungal-Biological Hazard Remediation Protocol Irerracon <br /> Grand Theater ■ 21 Lamar Street, Paris, Texas <br /> April 11, 2011 ® Terracon Project No. 94117645 <br /> <br /> of half face dual cartridge air purifying respirators with HEPA cartridges (N-100), and the <br /> remedial work conducted on the second floor will require the use of Powered Air Purifying <br /> Respirators (PAPR), specifically during pigeon related biological-hazard remediation. <br /> <br /> Terracon has documented the presence of asbestos containing materials (ACM) and lead <br /> based paint (LBP) in the walls of the first floor lobby. The abatement of AGM and LBP will be <br /> conducted prior to fungal remediation. The asbestos abatement specifications are provided <br /> in Scope of Work for Hazardous Materials Abatement, Terracon Project No. 94107645. <br /> <br /> 1.0 SAFETY PRACTICES <br /> <br /> The contractor is responsible for all OSHA safety practices associated with worker <br /> <br /> protection. In addition, the contractor shall ensure that all electrical and fire hazard safety <br /> protocols are followed in compliance with typical construction regulations. It is the <br /> contractor's responsibility to ensure that workers on scaffold platforms or working from <br /> ladders or other elevated platforms should be safe and secure from slipping or falling. <br /> <br /> 2.0 ACCESS TO WORK AREA <br /> <br /> A secure work area will be established. Only licensed/registered individuals qualified to <br /> wear respiratory protection will enter the vacant building work area during the project. The <br /> contractor will ensure that access to the work area is periodically monitored. <br /> <br /> 3.0 MOVEABLE/NON-MOVEABLE OBJECTS <br /> <br /> Not applicable. <br /> <br /> 4.0 HEATING, VENTILATION, AND AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM EQUIPMENT <br /> <br /> <br /> Not applicable. <br /> <br /> 5.0 DECONTAMINATION SYSTEM <br /> <br /> a) The first floor lobby remediation work area will be entered through the <br /> decontamination system previously constructed for the ACM-LBP abatement as <br /> referenced in Scope of Work for Hazardous Materials Abatement, Terracon Project <br /> No. 94107645. <br /> <br /> b) The second floor remediation work area will be accessed from the second floor of the <br /> adjacent, attached building. A worker decontamination enclosure system shall be <br /> installed for entry into the second floor containment and shall consist of a two-stage, <br /> dry decontamination unit constructed of six (6) millimeter polyethylene.
