<br /> <br /> <br /> Scope of Work - Lead Paint Abatement 1rerracon <br /> Grand Theatre u 21 Lamar Avenue, Paris, Texas <br /> April 11, 2011 ® Terracon Project No. 94107645 <br /> <br /> <br /> 3.0 WORK PRACTICES <br /> <br /> 3.1 Respiratory Protection <br /> <br /> <br /> Throughout the project, respirators shall be provided by the Contractor. The Contractor <br /> will provide respirators which are applicable and suitable for the purpose intended in <br /> accordance with OSHA 1910.134 - Respirator Standard. The Contractor will ensure <br /> that the respirators are equipped with filter cartridges designed for lead paint, dusts and <br /> mists, vapors, and color-coded in accordance with ANSI Z228.2 (1980). <br /> <br /> 3.2 Protective Clothing <br /> <br /> During removal of the loose and flaking LBP, at least one protective suit will be worn by <br /> each worker. Boots and gloves will be made available to each worker as needed. All <br /> protective suits will be properly disposed of at the conclusion of the work. The workers <br /> performing the abatement will decontaminate thoroughly in three-chambered wet <br /> decontamination system attached to each containment. <br /> <br /> 3.3 Containment <br /> <br /> <br /> The LBP will be abated in the full containment constructed for the asbestos abatement <br /> as defined in the asbestos abatement design. <br /> <br /> 3.4 Removal <br /> <br /> The CONTRACTOR will perform the removal and disposal of the damaged flaking paint <br /> in accordance with current applicable local, state and federal regulations. The Contractor <br /> will minimize the creation of lead contaminated dust and airborne particles using <br /> methods and procedures that create the least amount of dust. <br /> <br /> 3.5 Disposal <br /> <br /> <br /> This section describes the disposal of lead containing or lead contaminated components <br /> and/or waste materials. Disposal includes packaging of all non-metal waste materials <br /> and shall be accomplished by land filling or incineration as appropriate. Approval by <br /> OWNER is required prior to all recycling or disposal activities. <br /> <br /> Testing of waste will be performed to determine disposal requirements. The testing shall <br /> be conducted by the Owner's Representative. The Owner's Representative shall verify <br /> that all the waster has been properly segregated, containerized, and classified in the <br /> following categories: <br /> <br /> ® 2 <br /> <br /> <br /> 16 j_ <br />
