Fungal-Biological Hazard Remediation Protocoi
Grand Theater ■ 21 Lamar Street, Paris, Texas
April 11, 2011 m Terracon Project No. 94117645
Irerracon
b) The pigeon related biological hazards and generai contaminated debris in the second
floor containment wiil be p!acPd ir-double bags and discarded as construction debris.
The materials to be disposed as construction debris will be placed in double bags and the bags
decontaminated prior to removal from the confained work areas.
The quantity of fungal growth and biological-hazard material was estimated to cover 1,300
square feet of surface area.
11.0 PROJECT MODIFICATION
The MAC, on an individual basis, will consider modifications designed to expedite or
enhance the fungal remediation procedure. The MAC must approve deviations from the
fungal remediation procedure described.
12.0 POST REMEDIATION VERIFICATION CRITERIA
The project will be cleared by, 1) visual inspection, 2) tape lift analysis, and, 3) total
bioaerosol analysis. The post remedial visual inspection and sample collection will be
conducted while containments are in place and properly depressurized. The
containment(s) may not be removed or completely depressurized until final clearance
has been achieved and written, interim notice provided by the MAC to the MRC.
ii. The visual inspection criteria will consist of an evaluation of the remediation area to
determine if the remediation has been properly conducted in accordance with the
project specifications, applicable state regulations and the fungal growth, defined
biological-hazards, and extraneous debris within the work areas has been properly
removed.
iii. Tape lift samples shall be collected from representative locations of the
decontaminated surfaces and analyzed by optical microscopy. Any area whose
surface sample test does not meet post remediation criteria will be re-tested following
additional cleaning of those areas. Tape lift sample analysis will be used to assess the
cleaned wood ceiling deck/second floor.
iv. Tape lift analytical clearance criteria will be based on an absence of fungal structures that
indicate active fungal contamination. Trace quantities of random fungal spores indicate
deposition while the presence of numerous somatic and reproductive structures indicates
contamination. Fungal contamination is defined by the presence of somatic and
reproductive tissue consistent with growth on the substrate.
Pr ~P~:~3, Y ■ P.FS c'si&eC_eitRI ■ i''i=li:;hot 6

"AG -1" 0107/1 i-10-12
