MINUTES <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />AIRPORT ADVISORY BOARD <br />CITY OF PARIS - CITY HALL <br />COUNCIL CHAMBERS <br />107 E. KAUFMAN STREET <br />PARIS. TEXAS <br />THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 24, 2011 <br />5:30 O'CLOCK PM <br />1. The Airport Advisory Board meeting was called to order by Chairman Jack Ashmore at <br />5:30 p.m. <br />A. The following members were present: <br />lack Ashmore <br />Ray Ball <br />Fred Williams <br />Jerry Coyle <br />Steve Gilbert <br />B. The following members were absent: <br />Billy Copeland <br />Vic Ressler <br />C. Also present was Shawn Napier, Airport Director; Jeanna Scott, City Staff; Mindy <br />Moree, Chamber of Commerce; and Edwin Pickle, Council Member. <br />2. Approval of minutes.f'rom pi-evious meeting. (January 20, 2011) <br />Motion was made by Ray Ball, seconded by Jerry Coyle to approve the minutes for the <br />October 21, 2010 meeting. Motion carried 6-0. <br />3. Report, discussion of and possible actiofz on the Airport Mastef• Plan and comments. <br />Shawn Napier, Airport Director, stated we are complying a list of comments to forward to <br />Coffrnan and Associates. The next step is to approve the master plan. Steve Gilbert stated <br />he has had calls expressing grave concerns over the narrowing of the runway. Shawn <br />Napier stated TXDOT has allowed us to have a 100 foot runway when this type of airport <br />normally has a 75 foot runway. TXDOT will mill all 150 foot, 100 feet will be overlaid, <br />and then the City will come back and seal coat the 50 feet not included in the project. <br />Jack Ashmore stated we can have a runway as wide as we want as long as we pay for the <br />paving. Motion was made by Steve Gilbert, seconded by Jerry Coyle to send a letter of <br />support written by the Chainnan to the City Council recommending approval of the <br />Master Plan. Motion carried 5-0. <br />-1 15 <br />
