Evelyn Weaver is helping head a fanners
market marketing meeting on June 23 at 3:00. Cheri found a grant that she will be
working on that is due by the first of July.
B. Grass on the Plaza: The grass was installed on June 6. The money was raised
through a Historic Preservation Commission, Main Street downtown parks budget,
private donations and concessions from Movies in the Park. The barriers will be up until
the 28th.
C. Sidewalks: Engineering, plaruning and development is getting bids on burying
the wires underground.
D. The schedule will
be added later to the website. There will soon be a meeting held with all department
heads.
F. 10 Criteria Report: The report is due August 12. Cheri needs a list of
committee members, their occupations and community involvement.
Cheri ended with a thank you to the board for its support and work for Main Street.
Committee Reports
A. The report was presented to HPC and is
ready to be presented to the city council.
B. Design - Matt. Matt met twice with Dustin to pass on contacts, future goals,
and current goals as well as discuss how the committee runs.
C. Promotions - Kari. Movies in the park are doing great. They have had record
attendance as well as record volunteer numbers. Madagascar had 375 people in
attendance. The cotton candy has been selling out before the movies start.
Council liaison Edwin Pickle had yuestions for Kari, "is the screen larger than last
year?"
Kari reported that the screen is larger and the image on the screen is larger. The
new projector allows for a larger image which allows for an earlier start time for the
movie. Ben Allsup has been contracted for sound.
- 32
