2. Data Summary
The source defect analysis results are summarized in Table IV-3 and Figure IV-l.
Table IV-3 - Rehabilitation Occurrence 5ummarv
The 7,137 I/I and structural defects account for a total of more than $8,000,000 in
rehabilitation costs (Table IV-3, page IV-10). This cost does not include
engineering, maintenance, or contingency costs.
Figure IV-1 - Breakdown of Defects
Figure IV-1, page IV-13 presents the cost breakdown between public defects
(manhole, mainline and municipal service line) and private service line defects for
the system. The top chart represents the number of occurrences divided into
manhole, mainline, municipal service line, and private service line defects. The
second represents the costs associated with these categories. As can be seen from
the graphs, roughly 61% (4,321 defects) of the total occurrences (7,137 defects)
are located in manholes, and the total cost to repair these defects represents
approximately 43% of the total rehabilitation costs. The mainline defects
comprise 28% (2,029 defects) of the total with a cost greater than $4,400,000 to
repair, and the total cost to repair these defects represents around 53% of the total
rehabilitation costs.
ADS Environmental Services, Inc.
IV-4
