B. Storm to Mainline Cross Connections
Two mainline to storm cross connections were not televised and ADS
recommends that these suspected cross connections be dyed water tested and
televised, and has designated rehabilitation code 491 to the defect type. This
rehabilitation code includes the cost to dye, televise, and point repair the defect.
Depending on the severity of the problem as determined through television
inspection, additional rehabilitation for the entire line segment may be necessary,
and this cost is not included. Sejzment 06-0170M - 06-0060M, PS-06 - A suspected storm/mainline smoke
defect was detected at a storm inlet directly in front of the Coca-Cola Bottling
Company of Paris (line length is 120 feet). During the smoke testing procedure,
smoke was observed from both sides of the intersection of 11`' NW St. and
Bonham St. The heaviest of the smoke was observed at the storm inlet.
Segment 10-0420T - 10-0410M, PS-10 - A suspected storm/mainline smoke
defect was detected approximately 356 linear feet downstream of 10-0420T,
which is a tee. The length of the line segment is 4401inear feet.
Another segment, segment 10-0045M -10-0035M, was identified during smoke
testing as a possible storm to mainline cross connection and was televised. After
subsequent analysis of this line segment, it was concluded that the segment would
be lined thereby eliminating the potential storm to mainline cross connection
defect.
C. Special Rehabilitation Codes
1. Special Line Rehabilitation Codes
During the course of the analysis, a need arouse for a grouping of minor
mainline defects that should be watched and eventually repaired, but
which were not as critical to the system condition as other, more severe
defects. Two rehabilitation codes were assigned to these defects: 40 and
ADS Environmental Services, Inc.
V-2
