• Parts of the system are in an advanced state of disrepair, with numerous <br />deteriorated manholes and lines, as well as structural failures. <br />• Numerous tees and end-of-line segments in the collection system make <br />proper system maintenance difficult. <br />~ An annual preventative maintenance schedule would alleviate sewer backups <br />in areas were they occur. <br />D. Recommendations <br />The following activities should be undertaken as part of an overall plan to <br />improve the city of Paris' wastewater collection and transmission system and <br />reduce wet weather overflows: <br />9L <br />• Perform additional investigations, as outlined in Sectione of this report, to <br />determine appropriate rehabilitation for defects not yet televised or dye <br />tested. <br />• Repair a11 public and private sector defects located through field <br />investigations. <br />• Conclude smoke testing on the entire collection system. <br />0 Incorporate hydraulic capacity improvement recommendations determined by <br />the hydraulic model into the overall rehabilitation plan. <br />• Conduct post-rehabilitation flow monitoring to determine effectiveness of <br />rehabilitation and reassess the condition of the collection system. <br />• Update the hydraulic model on an annual basis, using data collected from the <br />permanent flow monitors. <br />ADS Environmental Services, Inc. <br />I-2 <br />
