The low bid was actually below the projected cost, so our total expense will be less. It is very important that we complete this SCBA transition process so as to ensure that our personnel are utilizing safe and serviceable equipment. We propose the following: 1. Complete the pwchase of 24 Scott Brand SCBA units (NxG2) with 22 spare (30) minute SCBA cylinders utilizing funding from this fiscal year (03-04). As we have discussed previously, we are utilizing $40,600.00 from the Minor Apparatus fund, redirecting $6,000.00 from our Training-Tuition fund, and redirecting $34,000.00 from Capital Outlay - Machinery Tools and Equipment (for Thermal Ixnaging Cameras). This avails a $80,600.00 total for purchasing SCBA and equipment this fiscal year. Total purchase this year: a. 24 Scott (NxG2) SCBA units @$2,865.00/unit 68,760.00 22 spare (30) minute cylinders @$518.00/cyl. 11,396.00 $ 80,156.00 2. Adjust the SCBA funding as listed in the proposed (04-05) budget to reflect the purchase of the remainder of the SCBA units, equipment, and training needs. This represents a reduction in the proposed budget of $30,880.00.
