Regular Meeting City Council <br />June 14, 2004 <br />Page 15 <br />TAXICAB STANDS FOR USE OF SAID GRANTEE; PROVIDING FOR <br />PUBLIC LIABILITY INSURANCE ON THE MOTOR VEHICLES AND <br />EQUIPMENT OF SAID GRANTEE; PROVIDING FOR THE SUPERVISION <br />OF SAID BUSINESS AND INSPECTION OF ITS VEHICULAR <br />EQUIPMENT BY THE OFFICIALS OF THE CITY OF PARIS; AND <br />PROVIDING AND EFFECTIVE DATE, was presented on first reading by <br />Interim City Manager Townsend. <br />A motion was made by Councilwoman Fisher and seconded by Councilman <br />Bell for approval of the first reading of the ordinance. The motion carried 7 <br />ayes, 0 nays. <br />Resolution No. 2004-097, awarding the bid for employee uniforms for various <br />City departments and authorizing the execution of a uniform supply contract, <br />was presented. Interim City Manager brought the Council's attention to a <br />memo in the packet that showed City staff was recommending the low bidder <br />G& K Services of Coppell, Texas. He indicated that the bid was based on the <br />average denim long sleeve shirt and denim jeans and 140 employees. The <br />weekly rate is $4.90 for laundry service for 11 sets of uniforms. Councilman <br />Wilson asked if this included the mat rentals. Interim City Manager Townsend <br />said it did. Councilman Poston asked the difference in the bid from this vendor <br />and the current one. Interim City Manager Townsend indicated that it <br />amounted to about $7,000.00 annually. A motion was made by Councilman <br />Bell and seconded by Councilman Poston for approvaL It carried 7 ayes, 0 <br />nays. <br />Resolution No. 2004-098 approving the execution of a Temporary Construction <br />License Agreement with the Texas Department of Transportation for drainage <br />improvements to Cox Field Airport, was presented. Councilman Bell made a <br />motion to approve. It was seconded by Councilwoman Fisher and carried 7 <br />ayes, <br />0 nays. <br />
