Regular Meeting City Council <br />June 14, 2004 <br />Page 18 <br />The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Resolution No. 2004-107, approving Final Payment and Release Affidavit for <br />the contract with Chicago Bridge and Iron Constructors, Inc. For the 2.5 <br />million gallon Elevated Water Storage Tank and 24" Waterline Project, was <br />presented. <br />Councilman Poston made a motion to approve, which was seconded by <br />Councilman Bell. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Resolution No. 2004-108, approving and authorizing a personal and <br />professional services contract for consultant services of an International Board <br />Certified Lactation Consultant for the Paris-Lamar County Health Department <br />Texas WIC Program, was presented. A motion was made by Councilwoman <br />Fisher and seconded by Councilman Poston for approvaL It carried 7 ayes, 0 <br />nays. <br />Resolution No. 2004-109, awarding the bid to a licensed, registered federal <br />firearms dealer, for the purchase of firearms and other weapons confiscated <br />as a result of the Red River Valley Drug Task Force' s drug interdiction activity, <br />was presented. Councilman Bell asked if someone buys these weapons and <br />commits a crime, would the city be liable. Police Chief Louis said the city <br />would not be liable. Mayor Fendley asked if this money goes back to the Task <br />Force. Chief Louis reminded them of the grant requiring a match and said this <br />money could be used for that, so the City wouldn't be out any money. <br />Councilman Bell made a motion to accept the bid. Councilman Guest seconded <br />the motion and it carried 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Resolution No. 2004-110, referring a petition to the Planning and Zoning <br />Commission requesting the abandonment of a 120 foot wide street right-of-way <br />known as 13th Street S.W. located in the Southwest Industrial Park, beginning <br />at the North right-of-way line of Loop 286 S.W. going North approximately <br />1,713.1 feet to and including a cul de sac, was presented.
