Regular Meeting City Council June 14, 2004 Page 3 CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, AND CHANGING THE BOUNDARIES ESTABLISHED BY THE ZONING MAP OF SAID CITY; ESTABLISHING A COMMERCIAL DISTRICT (C) ON LOTS 2 AND 2-A, CITY BLOCK 266, ON PROPERTY BELONG TO DON WILSON, SO AS TO INCLUDE THEREIN TERRITORY FORMERLY DESIGNATED AS A ONE-FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT NO. 2(SF-2); DESIGNATING THE BOUNDARIES OF THE COMMERCIAL DISTRICT (C) SO ESTABLISHED; PROVIDING FOR A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED $2,000.00; REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE, was presented. Mayor Fendley indicated the Planning and Zoning Commission had approved this 8 to 0. Councilman Bell made a motion to approve, which was seconded by Councilman Poston. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. Mayor Fendley called for a motion for Councilman Wilson to return. Councilman Bell made the motion, which was seconded by Councilwoman Wilkerson, and carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. Councilman Wilson re-entered the meeting. Mayor Fendley said items 7, 8 and 9 were tabled during the Planning and Zoning Commission meeting. Mayor Fendley opened the public hearing to consider a petition requesting the abandonment of the City's interest in a portion of a thirty (30) wide street right-of-way known as 27th Street N.E., running north and south beginning at the South Boundary Line of Pine Bluff Street at the northeast corner of Lot 13A, City Block 255-A going south to the North Boundary Line of Lot 10, City Block 255-A, a distance of approximately 150.5 feet. No one appeared in favor of or opposition to the petition. Mayor Fendley called for a motion to table action on an ordinance for the proposed abandonment and action on the resolution for the execution of the Deeds of Abandonment. Councilman Wilson made a motion to table, Councilman Guest seconded it, and it passed 7 ayes, 0 nays.
