Regular Meeting City Council <br />June 14, 2004 <br />Page 3 <br />CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, AND CHANGING THE BOUNDARIES <br />ESTABLISHED BY THE ZONING MAP OF SAID CITY; ESTABLISHING <br />A COMMERCIAL DISTRICT (C) ON LOTS 2 AND 2-A, CITY BLOCK 266, <br />ON PROPERTY BELONG TO DON WILSON, SO AS TO INCLUDE <br />THEREIN TERRITORY FORMERLY DESIGNATED AS A ONE-FAMILY <br />DWELLING DISTRICT NO. 2(SF-2); DESIGNATING THE BOUNDARIES <br />OF THE COMMERCIAL DISTRICT (C) SO ESTABLISHED; PROVIDING <br />FOR A PENALTY NOT TO EXCEED $2,000.00; REPEALING ALL <br />ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; <br />AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE, was presented. <br />Mayor Fendley indicated the Planning and Zoning Commission had approved <br />this 8 to 0. Councilman Bell made a motion to approve, which was seconded <br />by Councilman Poston. The motion carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Fendley called for a motion for Councilman Wilson to return. <br />Councilman Bell made the motion, which was seconded by Councilwoman <br />Wilkerson, and carried 6 ayes, 0 nays. Councilman Wilson re-entered the <br />meeting. <br />Mayor Fendley said items 7, 8 and 9 were tabled during the Planning and <br />Zoning Commission meeting. Mayor Fendley opened the public hearing to <br />consider a petition requesting the abandonment of the City's interest in a <br />portion of a thirty (30) wide street right-of-way known as 27th Street N.E., <br />running north and south beginning at the South Boundary Line of Pine Bluff <br />Street at the northeast corner of Lot 13A, City Block 255-A going south to the <br />North Boundary Line of Lot 10, City Block 255-A, a distance of approximately <br />150.5 feet. No one appeared in favor of or opposition to the petition. <br />Mayor Fendley called for a motion to table action on an ordinance for the <br />proposed abandonment and action on the resolution for the execution of the <br />Deeds of Abandonment. Councilman Wilson made a motion to table, <br />Councilman Guest seconded it, and it passed 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />
