Minutes of the PEDC Regular meeting
July 21, 2004
Page2
President Wall asked Gene Anderson, Director of Finance, for the City of Paris
to come forward and give the financial report for June 2004.
Mr. Anderson advised the Board had been furnished the sales tax update. They
had collections of $73,826.17 for the month of July and compared to the
previous year, the tax was down by $2,500.00. He said that for the year the
sales tax is up by $8,864.00 compared to the same time last year.
Mr. Anderson said they were furnished with a statement of the cash, and in
keeping with his usual presentation by exception, there were no unusual items
in the expenditures this month. He said if they had any questions he would
answer those.
A motion was made by Director Norment, seconded by Director Severson for
approval of the financial report. The motion carried unanimously.
President Wall called for the Director's report.
Gary Vest reported that the Industrial Park and the Hearn Street Project were
back underway, because after all of the rain, they were unable to work, but
they are now back in full force on the Hearn Street. He said that should be
wrapped up pretty soon. Mr. Vest advised that there has been a lot of progress
done to the Industrial Park. Mr. Vest said they were doing work with TXU
Gas, as they are doing the engineering to bring the gas to the Industrial Park
and they gave PEDC the engineering drawings and they will be putting it out
for bids. He said on the electrical drawings after they did all the engineering,
they are going to come across with the electricity and bring it in there at Jerry
Pitcock's, where they cross with the water and they are going to bring the
electricity under the freeway there. The cost will be approximately $50.000.00
to get the electricity in and to C-Tech. Mr. Vest said that TXU is going to do
the work and the PEDC is going to pay them for doing the work because they
are already doing most of the work by bringing it under the freeway. He
advised that they would go out for bids on the gas when they get the drawing.
