<br />3. <br /> <br />4. <br /> <br />5. <br /> <br />Main Street Advisory Board <br />June 23, 2004 <br />Page 3 <br /> <br />Lindsey contact the Texas Historical Commission's architect for <br />information regarding national park funding. <br /> <br />Lindsey Harper then reported on the Festival of Pumpkins meeting. <br />Planning for the annual festival is well underway and volunteers are <br />needed to work the day of the event. The next festival planning <br />meeting will be held on July 6. This year's theme is "Pumpkins and <br />Pardners." <br /> <br />A few board members attended a tourism marketing and research <br />seminar held recently in Mt. Vernon, Texas. Lindsey Harper <br />presented a map the downtown merchants are creating, under the <br />leadership of Jeff Faber and his wife, to market downtown Paris to <br />visitors to our local events. <br /> <br />Historic signage was discussed and is contingent upon a new design <br />for the Paris Main Street logo. <br /> <br />6 A. On a motion by Barbara Wilson, seconded by Renee Harvey, the <br />Paris Main Street Board unanimously voted to decrease the board's <br />size from 11 to 7 with four alternates in an attempt to insure <br />quorums at future meetings. Bill Kirby and Jennifer Long will be <br />recommended to the Mayor for appointment at the July 12 Council <br />meeting. Renee Harvey, Pike Burkhart and Bailey Gant will be <br />recommended as alternates. <br /> <br />B. <br /> <br />Brief discussion was held with regard to the emblems for the historic <br />walking tour. It was reported that the merchants are supportive of <br />this endeavor. <br /> <br />c. <br /> <br />A whine and cheese gathering is being planned with the downtown <br />merchants for August of September in Bywaters Park. <br /> <br />D. <br /> <br />Paris Junior College President Pamela Anglin has given permission <br />
