Regular City Council Meeting <br />July 12„ 2004 <br />Page 18 <br />materials or whatever they may be involved with that they know what their <br />base line is should some of these heavy metals show up in their systems so the <br />city will know prior to their exposu,re they were fine. Mr. Groom advised that <br />they have an obligation not only to the city, but to the personnel. <br />Mayor Fendley asked if he was hearing a consensus from the City Council that <br />they want to go with Option B and move ahead with the equipment and <br />training, to get that all lined up, and come back with an amended proposal for <br />the physicals for the Haz-Mat Team only. <br />Councilman Wilson said he would like for staff to research what is required by <br />OSHA. <br />Resolution 2004-124, a resolution of the city Council of the City of Paris, Paris, <br />Texas; repealing prior Resolution No. 2004-090, which approved and <br />authorized the expenditure of funds for fiscal year 2003-2004 to pay the cost <br />of training and equipping a Fire Department HAZ-MAT Mitigation team, <br />approving and authorizing a new plan for the expenditure of funds for fiscal <br />year 2003-2004 to pay the cost of training and equipping a Fire Department <br />HAZ-MAT Mitigation Team, was presented. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Bell, seconded by Mayor Pro Tem Guest, <br />for approval of the resolution using Option B. The motion carried 7 ayes, 0 <br />nays. <br />Mayor Fendley announced that the next item for consideration would be <br />Agenda Item No. 7-K, awarding the bid for the purchase of Self-Contained <br />Breathing Apparatuses (SCBA) for use in the Fire Department. <br />Mr. Grooms presented the City Council a packet whichhe gave to the Interim <br />City Manager back on July 8, 2004, which defines what they are trying to <br />accomplish in that it gives real numbers, which are the low bid numbers.
