MINUTES <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />CITY OF PARIS HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />LOVE CIVIC CENTER <br />2025 S. COLLEGIATE STREET <br />PARIS, TEXAS <br />MONDAY, AUGUST 23, 2004 <br />4:00 0'CLOCK P.M. <br />1. The Historic Preservation Commission Meeting was called to order by <br />Chairman Arvin Starrett at 4:05 P.M. <br />A. The following members were present: <br />Barbara Wilson, Vice Chairman <br />Paul Denney <br />Claudia Hunt <br />Jerry Raper <br />Sue Lancaster <br />Alternates: Brian Wear <br />Becki Norment <br />B. The following members were absent: <br />Ann Rodgers, Secretary <br />Claudia Hunt <br />Jerry Raper <br />C. Also present were Lisa Wright, Historic Preservation Officer, Lindsey <br />Harper, Main Street Manager, Jay Firsching and Carrie Zaboroski with <br />ArchiTexas, and Councilperson Karen Wilkerson. <br />2. Approval of minutes from previous meetings. None were presented. <br />3. Chairman Starrett asked the Commission to consider item 4 out of order. <br />4. Discussion of and possible action regarding the following structures <br />considered by code inspectors to be in violation of Article lll of Chapter 7 of <br />the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, entitled <br />"Substandard and Dangerous Buildings and Structures," to determine <br />whethersuch buildings orstructures can be rehabilitated and designated on <br />the National Register of Historic Places, as a recorded Texas Historic <br />Landmark, or as historic property as designated by the City Council of the <br />City ofParis. Chairman Starrett advised the Commission that Skipper Steeley <br />was present to speak with regard to item H, and Mr. Starrett requested that the <br />Commission consider items A through F and H through L together unless <br />
