MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />August 9, 2004 <br />The City Council of the City of Paris met in regular session, Monday, August <br />9, 2004, 6 P.M. at the Love Civic Center, North Hall, 2025 South Collegiate <br />Street, Paris, Texas. Mayor Curtis Fendley called the meeting to order. Council <br />Members present were Jim Bell, Jay Guest, Don Wilson, Karen Wilkerson and <br />Rick Poston. Also present were Interim City Manager Terry Townsend, City <br />Attorney Larry Schenk and Assistant City Clerk Sherian Dixon. <br />Mayor Fendley called for approval for the minutes from the July 8th City <br />Council Meeting. There being no corrections, the minutes stood approved. <br />Mayor Fendley called for receipt of reports from Committees, Boards and <br />Commissions including the Paris Public Library Advisory Board, July 22, <br />2004, the Paris Economic Development Board, June 16, 2004 and July 21, <br />2004 and the Main Street Advisory Board, June 23, 2004. Mayor Fendley said <br />Gary Vest, Director of the Economic Development Commission, was not <br />present to give a quarterly report. <br />Councilman Bell requested that a Councilperson from the City of Paris be put <br />on the Personnel Committee to conduct annual performance reviews of the <br />PEDC Executive Director. Councilman Poston agreed with that. Mayor <br />Fendley said he would ask Mr. Vest if that was possible and appointed <br />Councilman Poston to serve on that committee if Mr. Vest gives the go-ahead. <br />Councilman Guest made a motion to receive the reports, which was seconded <br />by Councilman Poston. The motion carried unanimously. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2004-027 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, <br />PARIS, TEXAS, PROVIDING THAT ORDINANCE NO. 2001-033, WHICH <br />GRANTED A FRANCHISE FOR THE ELECTRIC SERVICE TO TEXAS <br />UTILITIES ELECTRIC COMPANY, NOW KNOWN AS ONCOR ELECTRIC <br />DELIVERY COMPANY, BE EXTENDED FOR A PERIOD OF TWELVE (12) <br />
