<br />MINUTES <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />CITY OF PARIS BUILDING AND STANDARDS COMMISSION <br />PARIS JUNIOR COLLEGE <br />BOBBY R. WALTERS APPLIED TECHNOLOGY BUILDING, ROOM 1206 <br />WEST ENTRANCE <br />2400 CLARKSVILLE STREET <br />PARIS, TEXAS <br />MONDAY, JUNE 21, 2004 <br />4:00 0'CLOCK P.M. <br />1.The Building and Standards Commission meeting was called to order by <br />Chairman Chad Brown at 4:00 p.m. Chairman Brown announced that <br />alternates were needed to establish a quorum. <br />A.The following members were present: <br />Chad BrownMary Crumpler <br />Ward HallHarrell Tippitt <br />Patrick BrownLucius Joe, Jr. (arrived at 4:15 p.m.) <br />B.The following members were absent: <br />Tommy RobinsonMark Rothfuss <br /> Pike BurkhartGreg Wilson <br />C.Also in attendance were Lisa Wright, Director of Community <br />Development; John Lestock, Asst. City Attorney; Mike Alexander, Code <br />Inspector; and Lisa Overturf, Code Inspector. <br />2. None were presented for <br />Approval of minutes from previous meetings. <br />approval. <br />3. <br />Public Hearing to consider presentations by City of Paris Code Inspectors and <br />owner(s) and/or lien holder(s) of the below properties who have been given <br />notice of a violation of Article III of Chapter 7 of the Code of Ordinances of the <br />City of Paris, Paris, Texas, entitled “Substandard and Dangerous Buildings <br />and Structures”: <br />A. - Motion to demolish the <br />348 1st Street N.E., Lot 3, City Block 58 <br />structure within 30 days with a $1000 per day civil penalty and, if the <br />building is not demolished within the 30 day time period, the City will <br />demolish the building, was made by Chad Brown, seconded by Mary <br />Crumpler. Motion carried 5-0. <br />B. - Elders Baker and Moore were <br />516 5th Street N.E., Lot 13, City Block 61 <br />present and said they were going to a conference next week to ask for <br />funding to help tear the building down. Motion to continue this item for <br /> <br />
